The Athlete Performance Programme is a coaching service for athletes looking to optimise their performance in their chosen sport.
At MD Performance & Therapy we have extensive experience working with athletes and teams, ranging from recreational to international level, across a wide variety of sports including GAA, boxing, rugby, soccer and karate.
The Athlete Performance Programme will help to enhance your strength, speed, power, movement skills, agility and conditioning for your sport. Perhaps more importantly however the programme will serve to reduce the risk of injury, thereby enabling you to perform year-round. By reverse engineering the demands of the sport we have the ability to assist you whatever your chosen sport may be.
What you will get:
• Individualised programme based on the demands of your sports and your stated goals
• Structured S&C sessions supervised by an appropriately qualified coach
• Routine testing and re-assessment of key performance indicators such as speed, strength, power and conditioning
• Weekly programming via the TrainHeroic app, allowing you to log your activity, track your progress and gain valuable insight on readiness metrics such as sleep, soreness and stress -
At MD Performance & Therapy we can assist your team with all its strength and conditioning needs for the duration of the season. Through a combination of in-person and remote support, MD Performance & Therapy can help with the provision of:
• Off-season, pre-season and in-season planning and programming based on the demands of the sport, individual and collective requirements and the season schedule and constraints
• Routine testing and re-assessment of key performance indicators such as speed, strength, power and conditioning using the latest cutting edge technology
• Supervised gym-based strength and power sessions
• On-field speed, agility and conditioning sessions
• Structured warm-up and recovery protocols
• Training programming via the TrainHeroic app, allowing athletes and coaches to log activity, track progress and gain valuable insight on readiness metrics such as sleep, soreness and stress, providing an element of athlete accountability
• Player readiness and training load monitoring
• Coach education on topics including appropriate training design, injury risk reduction, recovery and tapering/peaking strategies for optimal performance -
As well as the provision of routine strength & conditioning services at MD Performance & Therapy, we are also happy to provide performance testing packages for both individual athletes and teams as required.
Using the latest cutting edge technology including the Witty Timing System and the Output Sports sensor system as used by Leinster Rugby, Limerick Senior Hurlers and the English FA, we are able to test key performance indicators for your sport including speed, strength, power, change of direction, endurance and anthropometrics and monitor their progress over time.

For those that are not able to train locally, the Remote Athlete Performance Programme is a coaching service for athletes looking to optimise their performance in their chosen sport, wherever you are in the world.
When signing up for this programme you will complete a comprehensive questionnaire which will give you the opportunity to highlight your chosen sport, your previous training experience, the equipment you have access to, your injury history, how many days you are able to dedicate to training and of course your own individual short-term and long-term performance goals. Programmes are catered for your unique individual circumstances, so whether you have access to a full commercial gym or limited equipment at home, or whether you wish to train two days a week or five, the programme will take all of these factors into consideration for you.
